Northern: *Note I put the Northern section in an Above
Normal flooding section due to moisture in Alberta clippers/ Pacific lows
passing east/Southeast across the plains.* Overall it's been a cold winter
for them so it may change in the next 2 weeks to Below Normal.
North Central: Western sections/Central North Central Alberta should see
Above Normal flooding due to warm air from the gulf of mexico creeping up in
a diagonal way into Alberta. We currently have around a 9 cm total of snow
cover in the city of Edmonton, as our average is 30 cm. We are currently
experiencing a very unsually warm winter of straight above 0 high's for over
2 weeks now. The eastern part of North Central Alberta will see mainly Below
to Near Normal flooding because of the cool air that has been rushing down
the border with no moisture aloft because of less snow amounts.
Southern: Most of Southern Alberta should see Above Normal flooding due to
very warm air creeping up from the gulf of mexico. There has also been
normal to above normal snow falls in the southern sections, with approx. 30
cm of snow cover on the ground. This shouldn't change over the next 2 weeks
and should stay at an Above Normal/Normal flooding stage.
